Roasted papad chaat

Roasted papad chaat

Roasted Papad Chaat
Roasted papad chaat is a quick and filling snack that can be served in a jiffy when you have sudden visitors at home.  The toppings for the chaat can be anything;  a varied choice of fruits, raw mangoes or even fresh vegetables.
Ingredients
2-3 papads, roasted
1/2 cup peanuts, roasted
1/4 cup cashew nuts, roasted (optional)
1 cup onions, finely chopped
1 cup tomatoes, finely chopped
1 cup cucumber, peeled and diced into cubes
1 -2 potatoes, boiled, peeled and diced into cubes
juice of half a lime
1-2 tablespoons of chaat masala
1- 2 green chilles, finely chopped (optional)
2-3 sprigs of coriander, finely chopped ( optional)

Method
At the start, roast the papads on an open flame or in a microwwave oven and crush them into small pieces.
Next, in a large bowl add the boiled and diced potatoes, onions, tomatoes, cucumber,  peanuts and cashew nuts and mix throughly. Now sprinkle the chaat masala, lime juice and green chilli over the vegetables and toss gently.
Finally, add the roasted and crushed papads to the vegetables and stir well.
Serve this immediately or else the papads will gradually get soggy.
Another option to serve the salad, is to toss all the salad ingredients together and keep it in the refrigerator. Once it is chilled, add the crushed papads to it and serve immediately.
Note- Sprouted moong dal can also be added to the chaat to make it more healthy.
